The FTSE 100 Index has risen every Friday so far in 2013 – that’s eight consecutive Fridays.
The last time the index rose eight Fridays in a row was in 2004 and before that in 1993. The index has only risen more than eight times consecutively one time, which was in 1986 when it rose nine times in a row.

For comparison the following chart shows the performance of the FTSE 100 Index on the respective days of the week from 1984 to this week.
If the FTSE 100 Index rises again tomorrow, it will match the best ever run since 1984 set in 1986.
